My talented partner took a photo and asked me to paint it. This painting is that photo.

I wanted to try to do the outline of everything in black and white and then fill some parts with colour. However, as I was painting, I fell in love with the grey colour scheme and decided to do the whole painting in this style. I have not regretted the decision. It’s the simplicity of it all, the routines in our day to day lives. We live and suddenly notice that a week has gone by. I’m friends with nostalgia. This scene reminds me of all those regular evenings at home with my love. Later when I’m reminiscing, it’s these ordinary moments that have turned into these memories I’m thinking with a smile on my face and a fuzzy feeling in my heart.
