Just a dream

Overview

Size: 59,2 x 80,5 x 0,2 cm
Year: 2015
Technique: Acrylic on paper

Long time ago in high school we were prompted to paint ourselves from a childhood photograph.

There might have been more instructions which I fail to recall now. Maybe it’s because I just knew which one I was going to choose: me on the beach under the Spanish sun wearing my massive sun hat. I was full of dreams and not afraid of how big or insane they would sound to others. I painted an Oscars award. I thought it would be amazing to win that and get recognition. This was before #metoo movement and before the curtain of Hollywood started to fall down. I still think it would be cool to get an Oscar but now my biggest dreams have shifted in other directions.
